For over 7 years Rui Octavio has been involved in developing initiatives that raise young people’s aspirations and increase their awareness of various career options. He is a co-founder and Chief Executive of Nutmeg Community, an award winning charity that aims to empower young people aged 11-25 to reach their full potential. Since inception in 2008, the charity has engaged over 4, 000 young people through varies schemes such as mentoring, community cohesion events, employability workshops and promoting volunteering. The charity has received national recognition by high profile individuals such as Mayor Of London Boris Johnson. Rui was the winner of the ‘most outstanding young person of the year’ 2010 award presented by National Federation of ALMOS.
Rui graduated in Business Management from Brunel University in 2009, he holds a CIMA certificate in Business Accounting and a PRINCE2® Foundation Certificate in Project Management.
