I have worked in STEM charities focusing on careers and links with industry for over 15 years, with lots of experience in presenting to students and taking part in activities, workshops and competitions to embed employability skills and careers knowledge. I am passionate about good careers advice and believe it is essential to enable every person to fulfil their potential and make informed decisions.
In my previous employment I created and ran national projects where students worked alongside industry to gain skills within environmental, scientific and engineering sectors, but also other skills such as the softer employability skills, project management, leadership and financial skills. I was the national representative for the British Science Association and Tomorrow’s Engineers, which is a STEM focused careers platform.
I now work in an advisory role linking industry and education in a more strategic way to ensure sustainability and I am an active Ambassador in schools taking part in mock interviews and helping coordinate engagements, focus groups and training for teachers on STEM industries as well as many other careers inside and outside of the STEM Arena.
Personally I perform in local amateur dramatic organisations and run my own fringe theatre company for which I am involved in finance and budget setting, grant applications and social media campaigns to attract an audience.
